I know what you mean about addicting, the first time I saved $60+ on one trip to the grocery store I was grinning ear to ear:) I felt a bit like a loser too:) I haven't gotten into the drugstore stuff too majorly, I have gotten some really good deals on stuff, especially razors and shampoo but it still confuses me a little. I would love to get free diapers!!:) Do you use huggies? I've been using luvs and really like them, I've never tried huggies but that seems to be whats on sale at CVS alot.

Thanks for the good wishes, it's starting to get a bit hard cause I miss all my 'old' friends! But we are planning on trying to come up every once in a while to see all of you:)

I have only read 2 posts down your page, but I don't get it. How can you pay so little for all this stuff? Do you watch sales and shop every couple days at different stores?

Our grocery budget is $400-$500/month (depends if we host alot or not) :) and I think that's pretty good. A relative spends the same amount for a family of 4 and we're a family of 7 1/2. We shop Sam's Club and then the local Safeway for weekly items, like produce. In the summertime, we can use the road side stands instead of Safeway and get by with less $$.

I'd love to hear your helpful hints. :)

I am so loving the cheap pampers!!! Did you see that there's a good deal next week at CVS on Huggies? I can't wait!! Good idea on doing the organix shampoo/huggies deal twice at RA and giving the shampoo to a friend. I hoping to swing by RA again this week and get a raincheck for the Huggies. Our RA does such a poor job in keeping stuff stocked. How does yours do?

I love that it's easy to get free light bulbs! I've been able to get them free at Target and RA. Before couponing I used to nate buying light bulbs. I got John Frieda too...good stuff.

What if you would e-mail them and ask if you can still get the gift card if you make a registry and it doesn't get used. They might hope you will change your mind when you see all the lovely things they offer!! if they say yes, you could add things you like to the list and get your gift card.
It never hurts to ask, but it does hurt to feel guilty. :)
I would say there's a good chance that they would say yes. (Marketing you know.....) ;)

This is a tough one Heather. I don't know what I'd do. They could make it tougher to get the gift card by requiring that at least 5 of the items on the registery be bought before they'll give you your gift card and they don't do that. I'd love to hear what others will say!

to answer your question- i shop at aldis, save all the coupons i can and make a lot of rice, black beans, oatmeal type dishes. lame, i know. ;)

Heidi-I prefer CVS over Walgreens. The Extra Care Bucks that you earn at CVS are good for a month. The Register Rewards from Walgreens expire in 2 weeks. The RR also get a bit confusing. For example: If you buy a proctor and gamble product that produces a RR you don't want to use that on another P&G product that you intend to get a RR from. It won't print a RR if it was from the same manufacturer. I love CVS and Rite Aid. Both do well at giving out rainchecks. I've always had great customer service at the CVS in Wooster too. Let me know if this doesn't make sense. :)

I have a question for you, is Walgreens a better place to shop than CVS? Do they have a better rewards program or are they similar? The closest Walgreens to me is Coshocton and I would rather go to Wooster to do my shopping and they only have a CVS not a Walgreens. Just wondered what your opinion is:)

That's a bummer about being out of the Purex. Newark has 2 Wags and the first one I stopped at was out of the Purex liquid. Luckily the 2nd Wags still had Purex liquid.

Walgreens was out of the Purex and it's not worth driving up there again later in the week. The coupons expire this weekend. Plus, our Walgreens around here has horrible customer service and they never seem to have a clue as to what is going on. Grrrr.... As for the Starbucks drinks- I got them on Wednesday and when I got home I saw the Kmart doubles thing. :( It's ok though because I'm sure I will have 5 other things I would rather purchase with my doubles coupons. The last time they did the promotion that were pretty strict about sticking to the guidelines. We shall see.

I'm curious why you didn't get the purex at Walgreens? I also got some Starbucks drinks at Wags but am so glad I only got a couple because now I can use the rest of my coupons at K-Mart doubles and I'll be getting a bigger bottle. Can't wait.
